CHESHIRE EDUCATION FOUNDATION USING SOCIAL MEDIA TO PROMOTE “GIVE LOCAL” CAMPAIGN
The Cheshire Education Foundation is reaching out via social media to help generate support for the fifth annual Give Local campaign April 25 and 26. The CEF is one of nine Cheshire non-profit organizations that are registered for the “give-a-thon.”
Give Local unites donors, businesses, and organizations in giving back to the communities where they live, work and play. During the campaign, every dollar donated is stretched with bonus funds provided by Connecticut Community Foundation and generous sponsors, adding excitement and incentives while raising essential funds for the work of local nonprofits.
“The members of our board of directors are using social media to reach out to their friends, former board members and anyone in the community who wants to help the students in Cheshire Public Schools,” said CEF board chair Jane Leukart. In its first four years, Give Local has raised $3.2 million for non-profit organizations in Greater Waterbury and the Litchfield Hills.
The Cheshire Education Foundation is encouraging friends and supporters to go to GiveLocalCCF.org between 7:00 AM Tuesday April 25 and 7 PM Wednesday April 26th to make a contribution. The Ion Bank Foundation is a presenting sponsor, and additional gifts from the Cheshire Chamber of Commerce, Ricci Construction Group, Daniels Orthodontics and New Leaf Family Dental will increase the value of every individual donation made during those 36 hours.
“If you live in town, please give in town,” said Jodi Bemis, who serves on both the Cheshire Education Foundation and the Chamber of Commerce boards of directors.
